NYCDCC Hype Video
Problem
The New York City District Council of Carpenters union is a representative body comprised of nine local unions and over 20,000 union members. Within this organiztion they also have a group of RISE memebers. RISE is a union-wide effort to educate, organize, and empower members in the political process. RISE was established in 2020 and for the 5th anniversary they wanted to create a hype video that showcased all the work the union has achieved.
Solution
We chose to break from their current brand identity and lean into the gritty punchy nature of the union. Utilizing Roc Grotesk as the main font gave us more flexibility with the weight and width so we could create dynamic movement of the type throughout the video. We also added dimension by using a gritty background and ripped paper textures on images.
